Meet our CEO

Welcome! My name is Ajeya (ah-jay-ah) and I am the owner of Jinx Minks, LLC. Jinx Minks LLC was founded in January of 2020. What started off as a hobby of mine became a passion. I began my personal lash journey in 2017. I loved getting my lashes done and would receive so many compliments. During this time, I was in college and lashes weren't accessible to many for a couple of reasons.

I attended UMass Amherst where most Lash Artists were located about 40 mins. away from the campus. Also, as a luxury service, not everyone could afford to pay for the commute and the service. I began thinking to myself, "What if I could bring this same luxury here on campus."

I took my first lash course in January of 2020 and fell in love with it. Not only did I love the art of lashing but, I loved the educational piece. Little did I know, something was coming my way.

Covid-19 hit... Not only was it a transition within school, but it was a transition for my business. I felt like I was just getting into the swing of taking clients and working on perfecting my craft. I was devistated... How would I get better in my craft if I could not see clients? I was feeling down for a while but decided to shift my mindset.

I used quarantine to educate myself more. I took online lash courses, ordered new products to see how they worked, lashed on my mannequin for 2-3 hours each day to maintain my muscle memory, etc. Believe it or not, this was the best thing I could have done for myself. I grew in my craft in such a short period of time. 3 months later, I was offered to work in a Salon.

As Covid began to settle a bit and businesses were opening again, I took the offer and began working at Simply Divine Beauty Lounge located in Springfield, MA. Here is where I realized... I was good at lashing. I was able to build clientele and surround myself around so many other amazing Black Entrepreneurs in the beauty industry. They inspired me, pushed me to do better, educated me on personal and professional growth. Here, is where I truly evolved into the Lash Artist I am today.

Fast forward a year later. I decided it was time for me to branch out and took a leap on faith. I relocated to Boston, not knowing anyone. I had no clientele. Just a business plan and faith. I signed my first lease as an independent Lash Artist. I knew I had to work hard and really promote myself. About 2 1/2-3 months in, I was fully booked every day.

I am now heading into my 3rd year of being a Lash Artists. My business has grown to the point where I can no longer accept new clients. I've shifted myself to focus more on lash education and products. I now use my space to educate current and upcoming lash artists. A place to empower those who are looking to begin their journey or who need that extra push. I've invested my time in finding the best products for Lash Artists. I hope to continue the mission of Jinx Minks while empowering others and creating a space for personal and professional growth.
